Carmen Machi, best known as Aida in the Spanish sitcom "7 Vidas" and its spinoff "Aida", received the Premio Nacional de Cinematografia at Tabakalera in San Sebastian on September 20 during the Zinemaldia festival. The EUR 30,000 (\~$33,000) prize is awarded by Spain's Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA) under the Ministry of Culture. The jury cited her as "one of the most important comedy actresses in the history of Spanish cinema" and praised her ability to move between popular productions and auteur projects. Minister of Culture Ernest Urtasun compared her to Anna Magnani, the late Marisa Paredes and Julieta Serrano. Machi has worked with Pedro Almodovar in "Talk to Her" and "Broken Embraces" and won best actress at Series Mania 2025 for Diego San Jose's "Celeste".
