Deepslate announces a €7.7 million (roughly $9 million) funding round with 42CAP, Alstin Capital and SIVentures for a speech-to-speech voice model that listens, reasons and responds in 27 languages with 440 milliseconds of latency, hosted in the EU and billed as AI made in Germany, with no separate speech recognition, language model or text-to-speech stage. The company sells it through an API at a launch price of 2 cents a minute against a regular 10 cents.
