"Pelagius", a 97-minute Spanish historical film made with generative AI by Miguel Asensio's Tiki Group, cost €350,000 (roughly $410,000) against an estimated €20 million (\~$23 million) for a conventional production of its kind, Chilean business daily Diario Financiero reports. About 20 people, historians and advisers among them, made it in Chile with Google Flow, Gemini, Kling, Higgsfield and Veo, creating more than 17,000 shots and using 1,700\. Odeón releases it in 20 cinemas on January 8, 2027, after a premiere in the last week of December.
