Swedish public broadcaster SVT will require a login to watch SVT Play in its mobile and TV apps, introduced in stages across platforms within a few months, while svtplay.se on the web and its broadcast channels need none. Programme director Eva Beckman says the login lets viewing follow users between screens and helps them discover more; SVT adds separate accounts for children and says it will not sell viewers' data, asking only for an email address and a date of birth.
