Cinecittà completed the €232 million build funded through the PNRR, Italy's EU-backed national recovery plan: five new soundstages including the two largest on the lot, four existing stages fully renovated, 21,000 square metres of production space, a 10 hectare backlot and a restored 2,000 square metre water tank, which the studio puts at a 60% increase in production capacity. Chief executive Manuela Cacciamani said on 1 April that all the large soundstages were occupied by productions, and that the studio was inaugurating Teatro 23 for the 71st David di Donatello awards, set for Cinecittà on 6 May. Netflix's Assassin's Creed series is among the shows on the stages, and soundstage hire brought in €13.9 million of the €30.5 million in commercial revenue that returned the company to a €1.1 million net profit for 2025, against a loss of over €11 million in 2024.
