The Produktionsallianz and the city of Laupheim honoured Michael Souvignier with the Carl-Laemmle-Produzentenpreis on September 18 at Schloss Grosslaupheim. The jury cited "a producer's attitude based on conviction regarding content and personal responsibility" behind four decades of work including "Das Wunder von Lengede", "Contergan", Netflix's "Kleo", and the German Film Prize-winning "Lieber Thomas". Souvignier founded Zeitsprung Pictures in Cologne in 1985 and still runs it as managing director. The ceremony also awarded the EUR 15,000 (~$16,500) Carl Laemmle VFF Talent Prize to Paulina Lorenz, Jorgo Narjes and Faraz Shariat for their film "Staatsschutz".
