Channel 4 acquires "Friends" from Warner Bros. and will air and stream the sitcom free on Channel 4 and E4 from January 2027, its first run on the broadcaster since 2011, Channel 4 announces. Kiran Nataraja, director of content strategy, calls Channel 4 the show's "original UK home" and credits the broadcaster's relationship with Warner Bros.; Polly Scates, head of acquisitions, made the buy. No terms, licence length or episode count are disclosed.
