Academy Award winners Susan Sarandon and Olivia Colman join the cast of "Army of Shadows", a six-part Channel 4 drama from writer Ronan Bennett that takes Joseph Kessel's book and Jean-Pierre Melville's 1969 film about the French Resistance and moves the story to an occupied Great Britain, where a former soldier known only as Berry starts building a secret resistance network. Lisa Gunning directs all six episodes, and Paddy Considine, America Ferrera, Kit Harington, Alex Hassell, Leila Farzad, Luther Ford, Amara Okereke, Patrick O'Kane, Anjli Mohindra, Ed Ashley and Zoë Telford complete the cast. Studiocanal produces with Two Cities Television, part of STV Studios, for UK public broadcaster Channel 4, where interim head of drama Gwawr Lloyd commissioned it, and Studiocanal launches worldwide sales at MIPCOM 2026, so international buyers see it with two Oscar winners attached before any air date is set.
