HBO Max has ordered "Clangold," a four-part documentary series examining the 2017 theft of the "Big Maple Leaf" gold coin from Berlin's Bode Museum and the subsequent investigation linking the crime to organized crime networks. Beetz brothers film production produces, with Jan Zabeil directing. The project received backing from Deutscher Filmförderfonds (GMPF) and Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg. The series premieres November 13.
