Paul Greengrass "The Uprising" Opens in German Cinemas With Bavaria and Federal Backing

Paul Greengrass's 14th-century peasant rebellion epic "The Uprising," starring Andrew Garfield, Jamie Bell and Thomasin McKenzie, opened in German cinemas on September 10 through LEONINE Studios. The Blumhouse production received backing from FilmFernsehFonds Bayern, Deutscher Filmförderfonds and FISAplus. The film, titled "The Uprising - Fur die Freiheit" in German release, follows a peasant caught up in the 1381 uprising against King Richard II.
