Netflix has promoted Jan Bennemann to Head of Film for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the streaming service confirmed September 18. Bennemann, who joined Netflix in April 2021 as Manager of Local Language Series for Germany, had been running the film division on an interim basis since Sasha Bühler's departure. The seasoned television executive brings 20 years of experience in development, financing, production and acquisition of serialized TV drama. He now oversees the development and creative direction of Netflix's entire film portfolio for the DACH region.
