Machérie Ekwa Bahango's "Madi Makambu" won the La Biennale di Venezia Prize and four industry awards at Final Cut in Venice 2026, taking home over EUR 35,000 in post-production support. The Congolese-French-Belgian coproduction follows a young woman navigating violence and social injustice in Kinshasa. Final Cut, the Venice Production Bridge programme supporting work-in-progress films from Africa and the Middle East, awarded EUR 10,000 cash plus services including film music, cloud management and a Red Sea Fund contribution. Jordanian director Bassel Ghandour's "Occupational Hazards" collected the most individual prizes, with EUR 45,000 in services across sound mixing, visual effects and DCP mastering.
