Ink, directed by Danny Boyle and written by James Graham from his own play, opened the 83rd Venice film festival in the Sala Grande on the Lido on 2 September, with Jack O'Connell as Larry Lamb, Guy Pearce as Rupert Murdoch and Claire Foy as Jules Davies. The 116 minute UK, France and US production comes from House Productions, Media Res and StudioCanal, which also handles world sales, and Lucky Red releases it in Italy.
