Hans Petter Moland's epic adaptation of Knut Hamsun's Nobel Prize-winning novel is Norway's entry for Best International Feature at the 99th Academy Awards. Herbert Nordrum and Asta Kamma August star; the film shot entirely in Norway from June to December 2025. The NFI backed production with NOK 17.5 million (~$1.6 million). It world premieres in Toronto's Special Presentations on September 12 and opens San Sebastian's main competition on September 19. Beta Cinema handles international sales, Ymer Media and Scanbox the Norwegian release on October 30.
