The 83rd Venice International Film Festival sold 117,656 tickets, a 14% increase over 2025, which was itself a record year. The festival drew 14,000 accredited attendees overall and 3,000 industry professionals to the Venice Production Bridge, both in line with the prior year. The festival ran September 2-12, closing with the Golden Lion for May el-Toukhy's "Woman Unknown" (Denmark) and the Silver Lion for Best Director to Ilya Khrzhanovsky's "DAU." Figures were released by La Biennale on September 13.
