Asa Butterfield plays Senior Sergeant Arnold Kipps in "Gnomes" ("Angriff der Killerzwerge"), a six-part horror comedy in which an ancient Germanic curse brings the garden gnomes made at the factory of a sleepy Australian town to life and sets them on the residents. ZDF carries it as a ZDFneo original: Germany's Network Movie produces with Total Fiction, Screen Invaders and Happy Accidents, Matthias Hoene directs from scripts by Tegan Higginbotham and Paul F. Verhoeven, Joel Kohn, John Molloy and Richard Kelly produce, and Megan Smart, Darren Gilshenan and Tess Haubrich, as the Gnome Queen, co-star. It streams on ZDF from October 11 and airs on ZDFneo from October 20, billed as its free-TV premiere.
