"Cunk on Earth" Showrunner Makes AI Comedy About an Orangutan in Federal Prison

German production company BriskPace Studios launches BriskPace Unlimited, a label for AI-native productions, with "The Light and Hard Times of Lucky Briscoe", a true-crime comedy about an orangutan who went from Communist Romania to sitcom star, guru, cult leader, fashion icon and politician and is now in federal prison, Deadline reports. Jason Hazeley ("Cunk on Earth") is showrunner, Joe Markham ("The Amazing World of Gumball") writes, and company founder Al Munteanu, who created the series and executive produces, co-directs with Tom Paton, founder of AiMation; the pilot is finished, with AI-generated imagery and music directed by a human creative team. The series is coproduced with AiMation, in which BriskPace Unlimited holds a minority stake, and no buyer is named.
