Spain's culture ministry files a formal challenge against two orders published this month by the regional government of Castilla y León, which open the region's 2026 production subsidy calls for features and shorts, over a clause barring the money from "actions involving ideological indoctrination, partisan propaganda or express support for specific political options". The ministry says the clause points to harm to freedom of creation and expression and carries risks of censorship and arbitrariness, and its requerimiento, a formal demand to the regional government, opens the way to contesting the calls' rules in court. The ministry's notice gives no figures for the two calls.
