The third edition of Seriesly Berlin opened September 15 with the world premiere of "Jossi," an Arte comedy about a struggling actor who poses as a practicing Jewish man to land a film role. Jannik Schuemann stars as Wanja, who works in a Berlin escape room while chasing his break. Wolfgang Groos directs from a script by Jonas Zimmermann, with Odeon Fiction producing for SWR and Arte. Groos acknowledged the project ventures into "vermintes Terrain" (sensitive territory), with contributors Arkadij Khaet and Leo Khasin bringing personal ties to the subject. The festival runs five German and six international premieres at venues on Oranienburger Strasse.
