MDM Awards $330,000 in Cinema Programme Prizes

Mitteldeutsche Medienfoerderung awards EUR 300,000 (~$330,000) in cinema programming prizes to 30 venues across Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia at the opening of the Leipzig Film Arts Fair. The commercial category's top prize of EUR 25,000 (~$27,500) goes to Puschkino in Halle; Moritzhof in Magdeburg takes the EUR 15,000 (~$16,500) alternative/non-commercial first prize. The awards reward exhibitors for programming German and European films.
