Ricarda Seifried joins WDR's Cologne "Tatort" as chief inspector Merle Rautenberg, working alongside Dietmar Bär's Freddy Schenk on the murder of a vet in the 101st Cologne case, "Entfesselt", after Klaus J. Behrendt's Max Ballauf takes his last case in the 100th. Torsten C. Fischer directs from a script by Eva and Volker A. Zahn for the Cologne office of Bavaria Fiction, producer Jan Kruse, with filming under way partly at Cologne Zoo; WDR says audiences see the new pairing in about a year and has set no air date. Seifried, born in Munich in 1990 and trained at LAMDA, won the Munich Film Festival's 2026 New German Cinema prize for her performance in "Erzähl mir dein Morgen".
