ZDF streams all six 50-minute episodes of "Under Salt Marsh" from 16 October and airs them in double episodes on Sunday nights from 18 October, under the German title "Under Salt Marsh: Tod in den Salzwiesen". Little Door Productions made the series in collaboration with Sky Studios as a ZDF coproduction with Sky Entertainment Group, and shot it on the North Wales coast. Claire Oakley created it, wrote three episodes and directed four, with Mary Nighy directing two and Jonathan Harbottle and Nikita Lalwani writing the rest; Kelly Reilly, also an executive producer, plays teacher Jackie Ellis opposite Rafe Spall as her former colleague, Detective Eric Bull, with Jonathan Pryce, Harry Lawtey and Naomi Yang, in a hunt for a child's killer before a storm destroys the evidence.
