Netflix Film Chief Dan Lin Exits, Leaving Movies to Peter Rice

Netflix confirms on 19 October that Dan Lin, its chairman of film since 2024, is leaving, and that Peter Rice, who starts as chief content officer on 26 October, will oversee the film team until a successor is named, Screen reports. The exit follows Rice's appointment in place of Bela Bajaria the previous week and Netflix's cut of about 6% of its workforce; Ted Sarandos says Lin's "strength as a producer was always clear".
