Mar Coll starts shooting "La Regenta", a contemporary film adaptation of the classic Spanish novel by Leopoldo Alas "Clarín", written by Coll with Anna R. Costa and Diego Vega and produced by María Zamora, the Spanish Film Academy reports. Ester Expósito, best known as Carla in Netflix's teen drama "Elite", plays Ana Ozores, who lives in a comfortable but empty marriage to Víctor Quintanar in the stifling town of Vetusta, where everything is known and everything judged; Oriol Pla, Vito Sanz, Borja Luna, Clara Ingold, Carlos González, Ana Torrent, Itsaso Arana and Gonzalo de Castro co-star. Coll says the novel is rich enough for dozens of different adaptations and that she took what moved her most, its loneliness and heartbreak.
