The FFA, Germany's federal film board, gives the screenplay for "Wild Boys" by Karim Ainouz and Florian Gärtner, set among a queer youth gang in Berlin in 1933, €40,000 (roughly $47,000) of cultural development funding, one of 20 projects sharing €610,000 (~$715,000) from 109 applications. The eight funded screenplays also include Ute Wieland's family drama "Sibir" and Anna Kruglova's modern fairytale "Frau aus Brot"; among the twelve treatments, at €15,000 (~$17,500) each, are Eva Trobisch's "Mit Offenen Augen schlafen", "Lady Candy" by Feo Aladag, Paola Calvo and Patrick Jasim, Talal Derki's documentary "Last Standing Women" and Stefan Kauertz's "Der Einstürzende Neubauten Film". Eight of the 20 are debuts, and ten are by women or non-binary authors.
