Germany has budgeted €123.8 million (roughly $145 million) for federal games funding, its games strategy and the German Computer Game Awards in 2027, plus €171.1 million (~$200 million) in commitment authorizations, according to a written question the AfD parliamentary group has tabled in the Bundestag. Citing earlier government answers, the question puts federal games funding at about €137.7 million (~$161 million) for 581 projects by 2023, with "at least 39" of the 174 projects still running at the start of 2024 on the market by December 2024, and asks for every funded project's release title, platforms, units sold, revenue and jobs as of June 30, 2026. The program, run by the federal research ministry, covers up to 50% of a game's development costs.
