UK distributor Vue Lumière takes May el-Toukhy's "Woman Unknown", winner of this year's Golden Lion in Venice, for the UK and Ireland from sales agent TrustNordisk, with the release campaign starting from the film's competition screening at the BFI London Film Festival this month. Mathilde Arcel, who won the Volpi Cup for best actress in Venice, leads the Danish drama, which Mikael Rieks produces for Nordisk Film Production. The film has already sold to Weltkino for Germany and Austria, Memento for France, Lucky Red for Italy, Karma Films for Spain, September Film for Benelux and California Filmes for Latin America, among others, and plays Riga and Busan in October. "Woman Unknown is such a moving and pivotal story with a phenomenal central performance that packs a serious punch," says Vue Lumière director of distribution Eve Gabereau.
