Screen Scotland Opens Free Virtual Production Sandboxes

Screen Scotland and CoSTAR are offering free six-day residencies at FirstStage Studios in Leith, Edinburgh, for film and TV professionals to experiment with virtual production and motion capture. The 9,000-square-foot facility includes a 5-by-3-metre LED screen for in-camera VFX, a motion capture area with Vicon system, and Unreal Engine workstations. No prior experience with the technology is required. Each team gets three two-day blocks scheduled around work commitments. The program, supported by the National Lottery and Edinburgh College of Art, accepts applications on a rolling basis.
