The Czech Audiovisual Fund awards 5.7 million koruna (~$265,000) to develop five animated projects, two features and three shorts, all of them debuts and all with women producing, and its board singles out applicants for openly declaring their work with generative AI and explaining why they used it. In development, the board writes, AI is often already becoming a key part of the pipeline, though an AI-made creative package is not always a well-argued choice and can hurt an application where the design rests on it rather than using it as a supplement. The largest grant, 2 million koruna (~$93,000), goes to Jan Bubeníček's feature "Záhada hlavolamu" at Vernes, and 1.8 million koruna (~$84,000) to "Recordanza", an animated psychological horror feature by Berlin-based Syrian filmmaker Jalal Maghout at Other Stories.
