Norway's government proposes NOK 740 million (roughly $70 million) for the national film fund in its 2027 budget, up NOK 47 million or 6.8%, with film and games together at NOK 1.199 billion (~$113 million) against NOK 1.124 billion in 2026, the Norwegian Film Institute says. The production incentive for films and series gets NOK 15 million (~$1.4 million) more, an investment obligation on streaming services takes effect on January 1, 2027, with the institute helping the Norwegian Media Authority monitor it, and public broadcaster NRK's charter is to require it to contribute to Norwegian features, drama and documentaries. The culture ministry also starts work on a new white paper on film policy, the first since 2015.
