UK film financier Head Gear Films, which says it has invested more than $600 million across 550 films since 2002, among them "The Apprentice", "Talk To Me" and "How To Have Sex", is committing more than $120 million to US independent film and television through a new arm, Head Gear USA, Screen International reports. Director of operations Samantha Allwinton leads it from Denver and Los Angeles as the company's only US-based executive; the move follows a bill in Congress proposing a 20% federal tax credit on US labor costs, on top of state incentives of 30% or more.
