Netflix's German dub of the fourth season of "Lupin" replaces Sascha Rotermund, the German voice of Omar Sy's Assane Diop, with Alexander Doering, along with the voices of Ludivine Sagnier's Claire and of Hubert Pellegrini and at least four more, DWDL reports, as German voice actors fight a Netflix contract clause that allows their recordings to be used to train AI with no payment provided. The VDS, the German voice actors' association, has filed a complaint with the Bundeskartellamt, the federal competition authority, and backs data-protection complaints by voice actors including Matti Klemm to Berlin's data-protection commissioner; "we simply don't know what Netflix actually does with the voice data," Klemm says. Netflix tells DWDL the association's claims are unfounded and points to its agreement with actors' union BFFS.
